Presidents’ Blog – February 2021

Hope you are all keeping safe & well. Today I want to talk a little more about what Frome Lions do locally – not in terms of events, but what we do with the money the events we run generate.

By far the majority of what we raise is used locally. Sometimes this is to individuals or families in need, but we are also proud to have supported many other local groups & appeals.

Some of these will be larger organisations you will be aware of like Citizens Advice, The Samaritans, Dorothy House or Fair Frome. Others may be smaller, less familiar groups, like Mells Barn Social Club, Wessex Counselling, Purple Elephant or Frome Macular Society.

In fact it is quite a long list over the years and of course it is vital that we are able to carry supporting others in this way. So how can you help?

Please continue to support Lions events through 2021 (hopefully there will be more this year than last!) and please consider joining us & help make a difference.
