Presidents’ Blog – June 2021

Summer IS finally here, even if a bit late, plus it seems like ‘normal life’ is getting closer as each week passes. Talking of which (touch wood) I am delighted to confirm that Frome Lions will be holding a Summer Fete for the town in July (subject of course to Covid rules allowing).

The Fete will be on Sunday July 17th from 12.30-4.00pm, in Victoria Park as usual, and will include lots of fun things to do for kids & families.

‘JunkFish’ will be there too with their great (and free) craft tent for kids and there will be a BBQ and refreshments on site too. As is traditional with our Summer Fete, there will also be over 20 stalls run by local clubs and others, so you can support them too.

Anyone wanting to have a stall at the Fete should contact [email protected]

The other thing I wanted to remind you about was our appeal to ‘Make the Riverbank Bloom’. This has got off to a great start in terms of donations, but there is a long way to go.

Please think about donating to help buy THOUSANDS of daffodils and other bulbs that will then be planted this autumn on the Riverbank near the Westway. Last year a thousand extra bulbs were planted there, but it really needs ten times that number to make a big impact.

Every donation will help make a difference for years to come – please visit https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/Frome-Riverbank-Bloom for more details.

Oh, and enjoy the sunshine!
