President’s Blog – June 22 – Busy, Busy, Busy and a New President
It’s been a few months since my last post and a lot has been
happening with Frome Lions!
Spring/Summer is always a busy time for us and 2022 was no
exception – we have held 4 big events in the last 3 months, all raising money
for great causes, some of which you will have seen reported in the Frome Times
or posted online.
March saw our annual Sponsored Swim, then the Sporting
Dinner which raised loads of funds for Dorothy House and Children’s Hospice
South West. In May, it was our Golf Day in aid of Fair Frome and last week our
Summer Fete!
Next, in July we are supporting The Blue House Open Gardens (see photo) as part of the Frome Festival on July 2nd & 3rd with
more events to come in the late Summer & Autumn.
And we have a new President of Frome Lions from July
1st – I am delighted to be handing over to Lion Beverley Windley.
Bev will be our first Lady President, serving the club and our community just
as her late husband Roger did before her.
