Empowering volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions clubs.

Our Global Mission Statement

Whilst we are autonomous and our focus is doing whatever is necessary to help our local community, all Lions are part of a global service network and through global initiatives can really make change happen fast and on a large scale.

Lions serve our local community – youth, elderly and anyone in between.

Lions International award grants. Since 1968, the Lions Clubs International Foundation has awarded more than $670 million, about £430 million, in grants to support Lions humanitarian projects around the world, including major projects such as LIBRA ( the Lions International Blood Research Appeal ) based at King’s College Hospital in London. Since 1990 Lions have spent $346million on their SightFirst campaign to eradicate curable blindness throughout the world.

Lions are helping communities following natural disasters by providing for immediate needs such as food, water, clothing and medical supplies and aiding in long-term reconstruction.

Unfortunately the lights on our Tree of Remembrance were damaged following the storm on Saturday night and are currently not working. We are desperately trying to remedy the situation but as you can appreciate trying to identify the break in the cable and affecting a repair given that the tree is 21 feet tall is proving to be a challenge. The Lions Tree of Remembrance 2024 situated in the front of Rook Lane chapel was officially switched on, on the 29th November. A Carol Service and Blessing of the Tree was conducted by the Rev Jill Warren and the Music was supplied by members of Frome Town Band. The Tree and the Lights are there to remember loved ones or memorable causes at this special time of year and donations made to the Lions are used to help good causes in and around Frome.A Memorial Board with the names of loved ones or memorable causes will be displayed at the entrance to Rook Lane Chapel.Your donations this year will be used by the Lions to primarily support a Prostate Cancer screening program to be held in March next year and other local charities and good causes. Unfortunately, due to a yellow weather warning for Thunderstorms issued by the met office for the Frome area on Sunday, the Lions Club of Frome have taken the difficult decision to cancel Sunday's 'Ride Kids Ride event.
