Sponsored Swim

Since the early 1980’s the Lions Club have organised an annual Sponsored Swim, supported by Aggregate Industries. The event had to be cancelled in 2020 and 2021 but will be back in 2022 – on Sunday March 20th at the Leisure Centre.

Schools, Clubs, Families or just friends from down the pub can enter a team and there are trophies awarded for most laps, most money raised etc.

Proceeds are split 50/50 between a Lions nominated charity – in 2022 it will be SHINE (Formerly known as the Association for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus) – and whatever the participating team wants to raise funds for, which could be their school, club or another charity, for example.
