Prostate Screening Event

Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed form of
cancer in the UK currently and as with any cancer, early detection assists
treatment and recovery.

Frome Lions Club and Somerset Prostate Support Association
(SPSA) held a free testing day on Saturday February 25^th 2023, with 251 tests completed.
The outcomes have now been issued to all participants and there were 21 red and 8 amber results, which require G.P. follow-up.

Our thanks to Wesley Chapel for hosting, SPSA, the phlebotomists who took the samples, Frome Lions volunteers for the admin & kitchen support  – and to all those men who took part.

We hope to run another event in 2025, but in the meantime SPSA frequently run events throughout the county. Dates of other locations where you can book at a test can be found at www.spsa.mypsatests.org.uk – or you can get a test via your G.P.
